The primary role of the Elders Advisory Committee comprised of representatives from different Indigenous groups of Alberta is to guide and provide leadership to 10 coordinators (helpers) of the National Gathering of Elders.
The coordinators are responsible for the following areas: holistic wellness, elders rest area, entertainment, first aid and security, elders meals, volunteer meals, trade show organization, cultural events, fundraising, giveaways, protocol, information booths, parking, media, registration, souvenirs, stage management, tours, trade and convention Centre, arts and crafts booths, transportation, VIP/Dignitaries, grand entry, volunteers, web site, gathering program, tours.
We are fortunate indeed in that a number of our gathering organizers have extensive experience in event planning and management ranging from local, regional, provincial, national and international events.
